DEFOE 1666 COLLECTION RELEASE DATE!

Hey guys!

Apologies for the lack of posting over this past month--alot's been going on in my private life, plus Tharg at 2000AD has finally given me my final deadlines for Book 3 of Defoe so I've really had to buckle down lately...

Sooo....here's an update on Defoe's (and mine) first ever trade collection. August 15th is the date you need to put in your diaries, or just write it on your forehead so you won't forget. It's already available for preorder at AMAZON and also at FORBIDDEN PLANET INTERNATIONAL (who also very kindly named it as a "top graphic novel pick" in the latest news letter! Thanks guys!)

I'll have to see what I can do about the officials listings on these sites as it doesn't have much info this early, and if anybody who's already read Defoe when it was serialised in 2000AD would like to leave an Amazon review, I won't complain!

Also, the cover on the listings isn't the final cover--I should know as I recently finished a digital painting for it, and I'm VERY happy with it...a little peak of it is posted above. Once I get clearance from my bosses I'll post the FULL image.

Normal service to this bloggy will resume next week when I'll post some new panels!

Later

L

Thanks Mrs Teague! I've wanted to have a crack at digital painting for a loooong time. this is why I LOVE working for 2000AD --Tharg let's us experiment with our work, and just brings out the best in us. I can't wait for people to see this book.

Oh man! I am loving Defoe. It's some of Pat Mills' best writing in years, and your artwork bring the whole freaky zombie infested World to life, or should that be undeath?

Anyway, I can't wait to see more of this, keep up the great work!

Alot more my friend--even a bit of photography involved...when the time comes I'll do a bit of a "making of"post.

I actually submitted the idea for this cover nearly 2 freakin' years ago after I finished book 1 of Defoe--It's probably better that we've waited till now to do it , as I've grown as an artist and learnt a few tricks along the way...

Thanks buddy. Y'know, it's nice to know that now your Raise the Dead is finished, we can finally be friends, no longer mortal enemies....:)

Whoops, I must have forgotten to click "Email follow-up comments".

You read Hypergeek? Yay! It's always good to know people are reading, especially wonderful artists and writers!

Prog 1640 eh? I'll be waiting for it. Though it doesn't make it over the Atlantic Ocean for another 3 or 4 weeks after the British publication date. Well, sometimes it does, but I often go weeks without progs, then end up getting a bundle of 4 or 5 along with JD meg. This week is often a blessing and a curse, because the thrill-power overload is always good fun, but at the current exchange rate, my wallet ends up taking a MASSIVE ding!

I wish Rebellion and Diamnd could sort out a better distribution deal for the US/Canada. I keep trying to get Canadians to read it, but no-one wants to buy a book that you can't just pick up off the shelf, and you have to make a special order for.

Sigh, maybe I should email Tharg :)

Hey Edward, if you don't like the oversees wait for your prog, you could try the digital comics site Clickwheel who handle 2000AD'S distribution. That is if you don't mind viewing your progs onlne that is. I think they release their didital download very close to the actual progs distribution.

Wiiiiiiilllll......thanks matey, I'll be picking up your Farscape comic tomorrow sir!
