SOMETHING FROM THE VAULTS 4!!!

You lot had better appreciate this post as it took bloody AGES top scan in!

Waaaaaaay back in 2003-2004 I was given the huge break by Shelly bond of Vertigo to pencil the series, "The Witching", written by Jon Vankin (with some cracking dialogue!) , with inks first by Ron Randall, then later by Dan Green, and covers by Tara McPherson

The series came to an end after 10 issues and I didn't see any trade collections released until last year when DC sent me Spanish and Italian versions. I very much doubt there'll ever be an English version!

This was a long time before I developed a style of my own, but I think the storytelling still stands up. Enjoy!

There's some great work in those scans, I like your pre-Defoe style its like you mixed with Gary Frank, works well I reckon.

Shame there isn't a English trade of this, I'd like to see it. Didn't realise you'd done so many issues.

Thanks for letting us see this, great pencils and designs.

Cheers guys. Well, I'm not gonna be championing an English language release. I'd like my work on Defoe to represent me these days.

I've stopped myself from going back to look at this so many times, I was honestly stunned to see how many pages I'd done!

For added info, Mark buckingham did the fill in Halloween issue.

Leigh, thanks for sharing- There is some fantastic stuff in there, with some beautiful storytelling too.

Thanks Bolt--I should add that in my naivety, I foolishly thought that one day I'd get to see a toy made of Elsa and her cool ship....silly bastard...

Thanks Rob. I guess it's the price you pay for working for one of the Big Two. Part of me can understand their nervousness and overthinking. They just want it to do well-- I just didn't agree with with some of their choices.

Hey Mr Townsend! Long time no see. Thanks mate. To be honest, I'm only posting this old stuff as I can't show my latest work yet.

Glad you like it though! Hopefully see you in Bristol.

Just saw these pages, fantastic work! Are you selling these at all? I'll have to look out for some back issues of 'The Witching' if there's no trade, it looks intriguing and a lot of fun.

Wow, wasn't expecting that! Cheers for that Adam.
As for the pages, you have to know that all of these have been inked by someone else now, so I was only sent half of the pages back.

Let me get back to you next week when I'm done with this deadline, and I'll have a look what I've got. I'll have a few spare issues lying around as well that I can send you either way mate.
